Rockstars, Heroes & Friends
I only discovered my now favorite band Puddle of Mudd in April 2016, but right from the start I knew that there is something special about its original members.
Kenny Burkitt, Jimmy Allen, Wesley Scantlin, Sean Sammon
The Originals are easily the most talented version of the band as well as the most beautiful and kind-hearted.
Sean (the original bassist) was the first person I talked to, after finding out that he was the person who was selling the old Puddle of Mudd shirt on eBay. (Which I bought, of course, so I would have a Puddle shirt to wear at my first Puddle of Mudd concert on July 01, 2016 in Slovakia).
And not only did I wear it, I also got it signed by Wes after the show.
I discovered Kenny (the original drummer) a few days after I discovered Sean, and I am very thankful that I did. While I was on the road to my first Puddle concert, Kenny watched over me from afar like a dad, making sure I am ok at the festival, and making sure I am ok while waiting several hours at the train station for the train home the following morning.
Kenny is the coolest drummer that Puddle of Mudd ever had, and his drumming is the heartbeat to every song. (And he surely touched my heart with his great kindness and his most interesting stories).
One year after becoming a fan I got to meet Wes for the first time - and eventhough he has a reputation for being a wild and crazy rockstar - to me he's always been super kind.
In 2019 I finally got to know Jimmy (original guitarist & songwriter) and found out more about his great music for Puddle and about his other bands and projects.
Jimmy is amazingly kind and one of the best guitarists and songwriters you'll ever find.
And with Jimmy there also came Troy. Our secret Mudd-Bass-Man from 1995/1996.
I'm truly thankful to those amazing Rockstars for their wonderful music, for the cool stories they share, and most of all for being so kind to their fans, especially to this little super fan here.
You guys are TRUE rockstars, you are my music heroes and you are the coolest friends anyone can ever have in this world.
The original Puddle of Mudd rock my world, thank you for being so awesome!
